Dear ,
Next week, I'm taking a break for an emotional self care trip to the Eastern Sierra. ☀️ My Online Yoga Classes will go on pause during this time, June 29th - July 3rd.
Classes will resume on Monday, July 6th.
While I'm away, I'd like to share the emotional self care practices from my most recent Worthy and Tonic message. Please use these ideas as inspiration for staying connected in mind-body-spirit while our yoga sessions are on hold.
~ Care for the vibrational frequency of your emotions ~
Listen inwardly to the changing landscape of what your body, mind, and heart need. Let the internal "weather" of your emotional and somatic state to guide you in choosing how you will care for yourself each day.
Some ideas:
- Be with water: Take a shower, go swimming, hike to a waterfall, hydrate, water the garden, feel the water as you do the dishes, go outside if it rains. Water carries the past, so let every interaction with water bring you into connection with memories. Send love upstream to your ancestors and downstream to your descendants.
- Reclaim emotional eating by feeding your moods wisely:
- Protein for mental fogginess and fatigue
- Sweet for more love
- Carbohydrates to feel grounded when you’re spaced out
- When you’re depleted or overstimulated, fats. Eat the entire avocado.
- Only eat when you’re hungry, not when it’s your habit.
- Hold space for your feelings by connecting them to a creative act: Make expressive art, invite the people you live with to a dinner party, grow a garden, adorn yourself, dance, redecorate, write poetry, sing, imagine.
- Talk openly about how you’re feeling. Call someone special to share.
- Additional Etcetera: infuse essential oils, practice restorative yoga, do power yoga!, eat pranic foods to cleanse, oil your skin with brahmi oil and dry brush to connect with the sense gate of touch, find an open, spacious, natural environment, journal, read, nap, meditate, pause, breathe.
I send practice ideas like this out every month to my Worthy & Tonic subscribers. When you add yourself to the list here, you'll get the full message for the zodiac month of Cancer, right away.
I hope you'll keep your regular practice times sacred this week and use them for taking care of yourself in ways that feel authentic and personal. Re-evaluate how you're relating with yourself, and look for opportunities to express more kindness and compassion within.
See you next week!
Love & Light,
Jane
