Hello dear ,
Everyone experiences stress in one way or another, but as the polycrisis looms ever larger, anxieties are at an all-time high. How we live with
it, and heal it, can vary tremendously, and the experience of meditation has much to offer us in these times.
Meditation turns conventional reality upside down. Meditation trains us to no longer see the outer world as the cause of all problems and the source of salvation. The meditator looks inward.
Looking within, we feel the immense potential of transforming the focus of our own attention. This does not mean we do not engage in the world, or strive to effect change. However, we look within to see how the “world” is transformed by the power of our own looking. We yoke our own inner experience of the heart-mind to the vastness, and ultimately find medicine for our personal anxieties. Trite as it may sound, we
seek peace within.
There are immense tools and insights to be derived from Dharma Teachings, Somatics, and the findings of modern neuroscience and psychotherapy. These fields have often not converged. But if we truly strive for individual and collective liberation, we get to synergize the teachings of these fields and learn from the brilliance of all three.
Therapist and Dharma teacher Kelly Blaser has gathered a brilliant and insightful group of teachers for the 8th season of her Power of Meditation series – I would love for you to listen in:
